It’s the number of keepsake memories you’ve made with the ones who matter most.
It’s the moments that turn into the smile-generating stories that are told at every gathering (even the ones that happen long after you’re gone).
It’s a different kind of heirloom, but one that can be passed down and cherished by generations to come just the same.
We’re a husband-and-wife team who started Heirloom Journeys out of a shared passion not just for travel—but for helping others make the absolute most of their precious time on earth.
We met later in life, in 2016, when we both had our own established careers and our own children. As we began to combine our lives, we realized we had something in common: We both had fathers who ran successful businesses, but always felt the pressure to sock money away and save it for “someday.”
Both our fathers were financially healthy—but physically, it was another story. Instead of retiring, they worked their time away. When they finally did slow down, it was too late; with their health failing, it was impossible for them to take the trips they’ve dreamt of and enjoy the wealth they had worked so hard for.
For our fathers, their “someday” never came.
More than anything, we wanted them to be rich in memories and rich in experiences.
We wanted to show them that there was so much more to life than chasing the dollar.
We led by example, by finally taking time off and “taking the trip”—many of them! From the ocher colors of the desert American West to the aquamarine coastline of Sicily, we saw so many vibrant, breathtaking places that lit up our senses (what a contrast to long days spent staring at a computer screen!).
Along the way, we discovered how we like to travel: off the beaten path, away from the crowds, and to the “hidden gem” spots that align with our interests.
Heirloom Journeys is our effort to help others walk a different path as well. Our clients come to us because they also believe there’s no greater legacy to leave their loved ones than time well spent, together. They want to leave behind memories that never expire.
We traced Lee’s Italian ancestry back to Sicily, so we embarked on an epic 25-day tour of Sicily, Rome, Milan, and Tuscany to connect with his past.
We embraced the pura vida spirit and plenty of adventure in this magical Central American country.
We love the Hawaiian islands; we got engaged here in 2018 and returned a year later to tie the knot!
